South Lanarkshire Selects Liquidlogic to Replace Adults’, Children’s and Criminal Justice Case Management System

7th September 2022

South Lanarkshire Council has signed a five-year contract with social care software specialist, Liquidlogic, to roll out a new adults’, children’s and criminal justice case management system across the Council’s services.  After completion, the solution will support a workforce of almost 3000 staff providing complex care and support to adults, children and their families/carers in the South Lanarkshire area.

A Milestone In Digital Transformation

Following the conclusion of the competitive tendering process, the Director of Health and Social Care for South Lanarkshire, Soumen Sengupta commented: “Social care services across the country face formidable challenges. The effective application of new technologies and new ways of working is crucial to delivering our ambitions for children, adults and carers in the South Lanarkshire area. Our decision to move forward with Liquidlogic marks another exciting milestone in what is a critical digital transformation journey.

Why LiquidLogic Was Chosen

“We chose Liquidlogic because their modern software will provide an instant overview of an individual’s journey in terms of their care and support, which is important given the number of individuals we support and the need for our dedicated teams to be as efficient as possible.  The integrated record will also augment the professional judgement of our staff by assisting them to make connections within a case.  We also welcome the opportunity that the Liquidlogic product will give us in terms of its ability to interface with other systems - thus enhancing a single system approach which is so important to our work with partners and our commitment to delivering quality care.”

The Benefits of The New System

The Council is expecting to increase productivity using the cloud-based system’s task and workflow automation and a portal solution will be introduced to support frontline practice more effectively.  Practitioners will be able to connect and interact online with adults to deliver a more engaged and efficient service.   For example, an individual will be able to use it to contribute to their plan and express their wishes and feelings ahead of their next review.

A key requirement during South Lanarkshire’s selection process was picking a system that included strong reporting capability.  Extracting and analysing management information from the Council’s old in-house system was very time consuming and involved running complex queries.  The Liquidlogic platform includes intuitive reporting functionality that will allow the Council to analyse management information easily and ensure resources are targeted more effectively, while also meeting government reporting requirements.

LiquidLogic's Growing Presence in Scotland

David Grigsby, Managing Director at Liquidlogic said, “We’re thrilled to be working with South Lanarkshire Council.  The implementation is underway and there is a real buzz across the joint programme team to realise the benefits that the new platform will bring.

“Social care IT modernisation is picking up pace in Scotland. South Lanarkshire is our fourth Scottish customer so we’re really excited to be working with another council, but it also increases the scope for our users to engage and share knowledge among a larger group of organisations.”

Over 90 local authority customers across the UK are using the same core Liquidlogic Social Care System that South Lanarkshire will be introducing.  Liquidlogic is the UK’s fastest-growing supplier of software for local authority social care and education management services.
